Inked

Although this post comes a bit after the fact, for those who don't know I got inked in May with one of my friends for her eighteenth birthday.

For those who don't know this tattoo has significant meaning. In memory of my cousin, the cow was one of his signature objects. I have been wanting to do something in honour of Jaron as he was like a big brother to me. I hope to be at least half the person he was.
That's right people, I checked number 19 off my bucket list, who knows what else I am capable of this summer.

You Were The Soundtrack of My Summer

I love waking up to a sunny day more than anything in this life. There's something about waiting up to a beautiful day that can even improve the worst mood.
Spring in reality isn't my favourite because
1. my pants always drag, i'm too short.
2. i don't like my feet getting wet in the slush.
3. driving is questionable.
4. i have to go back to work.
I can't wait for summer. The last two summers have been legendary and I expect the same from summer oh twelve!
Everytime I drive by Bashaw my heart just falls thinking about the shows. The countdown will begin once final week is done, and I'm freeeee!
Tonight I'm going for supper with an old friend, and it has made this monday easy to get through. I think that's the secret to having a good day is something to reward yourself with either that day or week.
I'm hoping the ultimate reward comes to visit on friday, but if not everyone come out to Lauron Bull Sale at Olds Cow Palace on April 7th @ one. http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/299574043445313/
which will be another solid good time!
Happy Easter to everyone & best of luck on finishing your second semester with your head above the water!

You Know You're Getting Old When...

So as I' 'm halfway through midterms, a cold is just on the horizon. I have studied more in the last two weeks than I probably did through out my whole k- grade 12 career. Which brings me to my next point, I'm getting old.
I have been invited to more eighteenth birthday parties than.... than well, I'm not sure what but alot. And Andie got her license. And Gus has a girlfriend....
But next week is reading week, so the light is within sight. I have my killer math midterm tomorrow, so if I live through that, I probably going to treat myself to my fourteenth new pair of sweat pants and a new phone case.
As a side note, my math tutor is probably saving my life and keeping my sanity stable. And is the only human being i've interacted with on a regular basis in the last two weeks.
So to those who read this, and those who see me in the next week, be sure to recognize how remarkable it is i'm still living and breathing.
To everyone who is trying to get through midterms, best of luck!

"people might forget what you did & what you said, but they'll never forget how you made them feel."

It's absolutely amazing the affect you can have on others. There's the obvious, role models, heroes, remarkable people like old Abraham Lincoln, or maybe you're a Sandra Bullock person, or gosh knows maybe its even Oprah.
But what I've really been thinking about is the people you actually know, and interact with on a regular basis.
Theres the good, like your Grandma who teaches you to bake bread, and your dad whose just the greatest man who ever lived simple as that.
Then there's your friends who are there, or at least say they'll be there. As long as we're being honest we both know that you learn who you can trust pretty fast these days. I like to have three categories. The first, my friends, second my acquaintances, and third those who would love to watch me fall on my face but pretend to be my friend so they know if I've fallen metaphorically or literally on my face recently.
Then of course there's people you have romantic relationships with. Those are the people who can bring you up or take you down in a simple look, text or tone of voice.
In conclusion, just think about those in your life. Remind those who mean a lot to you what their true value is. Let your haters hate, honestly it's kind of rewarding to have their criticism on such a regular basis when that requires so much time. And most importantly just be you, cuz I bet it's pretty sweet.

Having Your Haters

Everybody has heard a friend, coworker or sibling say the dreaded, "they just hate me, I don't know why." Heck I've said it myself, probably in the last week. And in such a situation you're probably given reasons like, "oh they're jealous you're so pretty," or "they wish they were as smart as you," or my favorite, "it's just cuz you have everything they want." Right ha, that's what I think sarcastically in this situation, cuz I have to much to be jealous of.
But if you think about it more, everyone wants what they can't have right? So maybe they do just dislike me cuz of my charming wit, flawless etiquette and group of friends.
With this being said, I know people think I "hate" them and if you truly believe that and are reading this, I am almost certain its not true. First of all said "hating" takes far too much energy and effort. Secondly as I was discussing with Goose last night, everyone has something to offer you, so why would I deny myself that? As a side note, everyone knows my goal is to be everyone's friend, so I would never lose that opportunity with petty dislike.
I guess what I'm hoping you get out of this (hoping that someone is infact reading this...) is that you need to stop assuming that oh she "hates" me cuz that's probably not true, and even if it is you're probably wasting your time worrying over a person who isn't worth the time.
Always remember, "confidence is a stain they can't wipe off," as Lil Wayne would say in this situation...
